So, with a new Unreal Tournament Game, I gotta check out the underwater aspect of it. 
This is what we have here.
Visuals match the real life aspect of your vision while underwater without goggles, swimming animations are OK, drowning noises are lame but when you surface, you get a custom inhale and cough sound for your character. When you drown, it works like UT2004's, you go into a ragdoll animation.
All in all, it's pretty good.

That's true.
But people that started to open their eyes early in water can see underwater the same way they see on surface.
Also near-sighted people see a little better than average.
